India, Nov. 21 -- Assam Rifles, along with Manipur Police Commandos, recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and Rs 3.2 lakh in cash during their ongoing counterinsurgency (CI) operations, officials stated on Friday.
Acting on intelligence inputs from multiple sources, the joint team conducted CI operations in the hill ranges of the Urangpat area under Yaingangpokpi Police Station in Imphal East district on Thursday. The reports stated that the following illicit items were recovered:
i) one pistol with an empty magazine
ii) one tear gas gun
iii) one country-made bolt-action rifle
iv) one country-made .22 rifle
v) three tear smoke shells
vi) eleven live rounds of ammunition of various calibres
vii) twelve 7.62 mm empty cases
