India, Jan. 1 -- The Manipur government has resettled around 10,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from over 2,200 families, while construction of nearly 4,000 additional houses for rehabilitation is underway, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel said on Tuesday.
In an official statement, Goel said the government has been holding regular meetings at various levels with representatives of displaced families to address their concerns related to resettlement and allied issues.
The statement said the state administration is simultaneously implementing security measures and confidence-building initiatives at both state and district levels to ensure a safe environment for returning families and to rebuild trust among communities.
