India, Feb. 8 -- The Manipur Government is implementing road development and renovation works worth Rs 3,647.23 crore across market areas in Imphal city. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday visited Thangal Bazar in northern Imphal to review the progress of the ongoing projects.

The initiative aims to upgrade around 547 kilometres of urban and suburban roads into durable concrete pavements, improve drainage systems to address waterlogging, and strengthen the Public Works Department's (PWD) institutional capacity for asset management. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)-funded Manipur Urban Road, Drainage and Asset Management Improvement Project (MURDAMIP) is being executed by the PWD, Government of Manipur.
