India, Jan. 22 -- The Anti Narcotic Task Forces (ANTF) of the central and state forces in Manipur have intensified campaigns against contraband drugs, leading to the arrest of five alleged smugglers and the seizure of drugs valued at approximately Rs 1.4 crore from local markets.

Officials on Thursday reported that the arrests and seizures were made at different locations across three districts of Manipur over the past 36 hours.

During the first phase of the operation, the joint team arrested two residents of Chandel district along with contraband items from Pallel Makha Leikai Pathabi, near Pallel IVR Road, under Kakching Police Station in Kakching district.
