INDIA, Dec. 2 -- Central security forces and Manipur Police, in a joint operation conducted in Imphal East district, arrested a suspected cadre of the proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF-Koireng) on Monday, officials said on Tuesday.

The arrest marks the first major breakthrough since the UNLF-K observed its 61st foundation day on November 23, 2025, according to a statement issued by M. Shak-Hen, Secretary of Publicity.

Officials said that based on credible intelligence, the Assam Rifles, under the aegis of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles and in coordination with Manipur Police commandos, launched a swift cordon-and-search operation at a vulnerable location.
