India, Jan. 23 -- The Anti-Extortion Unit of the Manipur Police, in coordination with central security forces, has dealt a significant blow to organized crime networks in Manipur's volatile border regions with the arrest of two key suspects allegedly involved in extortion campaigns.

The arrests follow recent reports of extortion targeting the Rajasthan School Games Wushu team in Kangpokpi.

According to police reports, the breakthrough came during a joint operation on Thursday in and around Motbung Bazaar under Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station in Kangpokpi district.

The suspects are believed to be connected to a group that has been under scrutiny for criminal activities.
