Imphal, March 2 -- The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), a powerful tribal body in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, has called for a 24-hour shutdown in the district on March 4.

This action comes in protest against the Manipur state legislative assembly's recent resolution to abrogate the Suspension of Operations (SoO) with all Kuki-Zo militant groups.

The shutdown will begin at 10:00 AM on March 4th and will continue until 10:00 AM on March 5th.

The assembly passed the resolution on February 29th, during the second day of the 5th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
