IMPHAL, Feb. 10 -- Three active cadres of the United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), also known as People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK-UPPK) were arrested on Friday, the Manipur police said on Saturday.

The trio, who were arrested from the Bazaar area of the Imphal West district in Manipur were involved in the extortion of money from various establishments.

Various incriminating items were also seized from their possession.

A case has been registered for further investigation and they have been remanded into police custody by judicial magistrate.
