India, Jan. 5 -- The Manipur Police has sought help from the public to identify a body found along National Highway 102 at Khongjom Sangaikhong in Thoubal district, an official said on Monday.

The body was discovered on Sunday by a local near Khongjom, who reported the incident to the police.

A team of police visited the spot, after which the body was sent for post-mortem examination at JNIMS Hospital mortuary in Imphal East district.

Preliminary findings suggest the deceased, estimated to be 30-32 years old, was found with one tobacco product (khaini), one syringe, and a small quantity of a substance suspected to be heroin.
