India, Nov. 12 -- A partially burnt body of an unidentified person was found dumped near an irrigation channel along Lamding-Terapur Road under Thoubal police station in Manipur's Imphal district on Tuesday night.
The face of the body was partially charred, and it was partly decomposed, indicating that it had been dumped at the spot for several days, the police said on Wednesday.
Initially, the body appears to be that of a male. Police are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide.
Residents spotted the body around 8:30 PM on Tuesday and alerted Thoubal police station.
The Scientific Wing team from the Manipur Home Department and local police have collected forensic evidence from the spot....
