Imphal, March 2 -- A bomb blast in a village on the hill range of Manipur's Churachandpur district claimed the life of a 35-year-old man and left two others injured on Friday, officials informed on Saturday.

The incident occurred around 2:20 pm in Huikot Leimata village under Leimatak police station in Manipur. The deceased has been identified as Paominlun.

Two injured persons, Khupthang (36) and TL James (46), are residents of Churachandpur and belong to the Kuki-Zo community.

While Paominlun's body was taken to the Churachandpur district hospital mortuary, Khupthang and James are receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.

Police are investigating into the blast and have registered a case, officials added.
