INDIA, Dec. 5 -- The Manipur Police's anti-vehicle lifting squad has arrested a member of a newly formed vehicle-lifters' gang, allegedly involved in several theft cases, during a drive to curb offences related to motor vehicles. Police also recovered a stolen vehicle during Thursday's operation, officials reported on Friday.
Acting on intelligence inputs suggesting that members of the gang were planning to carry out their activities, a team from the Singjamei police station laid a trap.
The police arrested one member of the gang from Kwakeithel Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai under the Singjamei police station in Imphal West district, in connection with an FIR registered earlier.
