India, Jan. 23 -- A Fast Track Special Court in Manipur on Thursday sentenced two men to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for the gang rape of a minor girl.

The Special Judge of Fast Track Special Court No. 1 convicted Dayananda Heikrujam (38) and Sagolshem Sanahal (37) under Section 376(D) of the Indian Penal Code and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of them. The court also ordered that the period already spent by the convicts in custody be set off against the sentence.

The two men, residents of Uchiwa Leirak Achouba in Imphal West district, were arrested on December 10, 2021, in connection with the case.
