Imphal, May 24 -- Normal life and plying of vehicles on the National Highway 102 - Imphal to Dimapur via Kohima (Nagaland) is severely affected due to a nine-hour bandh in Manipur's Kangpokpi district predominantly inhabited by the Kuki-Zo people on Friday.

Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), a powerful Kuki-Zo outfit has called the bandh to protest the state government's inability to locate the bodies of the two Kuki-Zo volunteers killed in the Phailengmol area of Kangpokpi district on April 13, 2024.

During the bandh, the burial ceremonies of these two martyrs were performed at the Martyrs' Cemetery at Phaijang village with the highest honour and tribute as per the tradition and custom of the Kuki-Zo community.
