India, Jan. 16 -- A joint security force in Manipur recovered 54 grams of WY tablets (methamphetamine) from a house at Kairang Masjid Maning under Heingang police station, Imphal East district, on Thursday, officials reported on Friday.

The owner of the house, a drug smuggler named Md. Bashir (39), and his wife, Sajida (33), fled the scene when the joint team from central and state forces arrived.

The operation was based on intelligence inputs that some anti-social elements were loitering in and around the suspected location for illegal activities, especially drug-related cases.
