Agartala, July 15 -- Jitendra Chaudhury, the Tripura CPIM state committee secretary, asserted on Monday that the state's law and order have entirely disintegrated and that constitutional rights have been severely compromised under BJP governance.

Chaudhury's remarks came following a rally for the submission of nominations in Santchand Rural Development Block, South District. During this event, participants allegedly faced stone-throwing by miscreants.

He claimed that as CPIM workers were exiting the block offices after submitting their nominations, a group of supposed BJP-affiliated miscreants began pelting them with stones in the presence of police officers.
