LONDON, Feb. 6 -- British King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer.

This development has been confirmed by the Buckingham Palace in a statement.

King Charles has postponed public-facing duties, the Buckingham Palace informed.

King Charles spent three nights in the hospital last month.

He underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate.

It was then that tests had identified a form of cancer on King Charles III.

".diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer," the Buckingham Palace said.

"His Majesty has commenced a schedule of regular treatments," it adds.

The statement further said that doctors have advised The King to "postpone public-facing duties".
