India voices concern over Myanmar crisis, highlights refugee influx
Guwahati, March 4 -- India addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council, expressing deep concern about the deteriorating situation in neighbouring Myanmar.
Kshitij Tyagi, a representative from India's Permanent Mission, stated that the "precarious humanitarian situation and escalation of violence" in Myanmar has resulted in a significant influx of refugees into India's northeastern states.
This influx has placed additional burdens on the region.
India emphasized its long-standing commitment to peace and stability in Myanmar, as well as its support for the country's transition towards a democratic system.
