SHILLONG, Feb. 27 -- The persistent issue of frequent power mishaps in the Northeast state of Meghalaya has sparked concern among residents.

Addressing the matter, Meghalaya power minister Abu Taher Mondal acknowledged the challenge of monitoring power connections in every household due to individuals' use of electricity within their premises.

However, he revealed that the Meghalaya power department is considering conducting audits of electrical supplies in the iconic and heritage wooden structures in Shillong.

Mondal urged the public to cooperate by reporting any concerns related to electrical issues to the department, emphasizing the importance of caution and avoiding overloading in residences.
