India, Nov. 21 -- BSF and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized Yaba tablets and pharmaceutical medicines worth nearly Rs 9 crore in Tripura on Friday, following two coordinated operations based on specific intelligence inputs.
According to officials, acting on information from DRI Agartala regarding the movement of a major Yaba consignment from Agartala towards Bishramganj along NH-08, a mobile check post was set up around 0830 hrs in front of Gate No. 01 of the BSF Sector Headquarters at Gokulnagar.
During checking, a Suzuki Eeco van bearing registration number TR 01 CH 0353 allegedly attempted to evade the checkpoint and fled towards Udaipur via the Bishalgarh Bypass Road, prompting a chase by the joint team.
