India, Sept. 21 -- Imphal: In the significant crackdowns on drug smuggling, the Assam Rifles, along with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the CRPF, and Manipur police, seized brown sugar, a derivative of heroin, and opium originating from Myanmar, at different locations in Manipur.
Officials reported on Sunday that they recovered contraband drugs worth approximately Rs 10 crores from the international clandestine drug trade over the past 36 hours.
Based on specific information, the anti-smuggling unit of the Assam Rifles, in coordination with other law enforcers, raided a suspected location near T Jangnom, just 8 km from the Indo-Myanmar border in Chandel District, Manipur.
