India, Dec. 18 -- A case has been filed against Raijor Dal chief and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi over allegations that sensitive details of a chargesheet linked to the death of Zubeen Garg were made public through social media.

The decision has triggered fresh political debate, with the government asserting the need to protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation.

"I have come to know that the government has filed a case against me for making the chargesheet related to Zubeen public. I am severely ill. Even then, I will go to Guwahati tomorrow to face the case," Raijor Dal chief Gogoi stated on Thursday evening on social media.
