India, Nov. 21 -- The Assam government held a meeting at Janata Bhawan here on Friday with representatives of the Assam High School Teachers' Association, focusing on teacher recruitment, regularisation of school heads, and provincialisation of schools.
"The government is committed to speeding up pending teacher appointments to maintain teaching standards and reduce classroom pressure," a senior official who attended the meeting said.
According to Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, who shared the update on X, the meeting primarily reviewed three issues:
Filling all vacant posts in provincialised schools that have remained unoccupied since 2013,
Regularising in-charge headmasters as full-time Head Teachers, and
