India, Nov. 19 -- In a major update for lakhs of students across Assam, the state government on Wednesday announced the starting dates for the HSLC (Class 10) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) examinations for 2026.

With the academic calendar entering its final phase, the announcement brings clarity and relief to students, teachers, and educational institutions preparing for the board exams.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the official update on X, stating:

"Important Examination Update The HSLC (Matriculation) Examination 2026 will commence from 10 February 2026. The Higher Secondary Final Examination 2026 will begin from 11 February 2026. Wishing every student the very best for their upcoming examinations."
