Guwahati, April 11 -- Assam has etched its name in the annals of history as over 40 lakh Self-Help Group (SHG) members of the Northeast state took the pledge on a single day.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Assam along with the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission and the Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission while taking an initiative enlisted in the India Book of Records by making more than 40 lakh SHG members take the pledge on a single day on Wednesday (April 10) for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
