INDIA, Dec. 9 -- American rapper Post Malone's explosive show in Guwahati has opened the door for even bigger global acts to perform in Assam.
Building on the momentum, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed on Sunday that the state government is now working to bring internationally acclaimed pop superstar Shakira to the Northeast.
Sarma told reporters that he has already initiated efforts to invite the Colombian icon, noting that her presence could significantly strengthen Assam's emerging concert economy.
"I am trying to bring world-renowned singer Shakira to Assam. A performance by her will inject fresh energy into our concert economy, promote tourism, and highlight the vibrancy of the Northeast," he said.
