GUWAHATI, March 7 -- Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed strong confidence in the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma predicted a win in 22 out of the 25 seats in the Northeast region.

CM Sarma hinted at the potential for this number to rise to 23, characterizing the forthcoming elections as straightforward with no expected complications.

During his media interaction on Thursday (March 07), the Assam chief minister asserted, "The NDA is poised to secure 22 out of 25 seats from the Northeast."

He added: "This is definitive. It may even rise to 23. It will be a very straightforward election with no complexities."
