India, Jan. 7 -- A youth from Assam's Lakhimpur district travelling to Bengaluru has been reportedly missing from train in Odisha.

Utpal Handique from Rongoti, Dhalpur in Assam's Lakhimpur district boarded train on January 2 from Tatibahar station to Bangaluru via Guwahati.

Utpal was going to Bangaluru as an annual verification process before his former employer where he had worked till 2014.

He lost his left hand while working in his place of work and has been under the employer's compensation emolument that requires a physical verification annually.

According to the family members of the victim, Utpal did not respond to the call from home from January 4 onwards after boarding the train from Guwahati on the previous day.
