India, Jan. 23 -- The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has ordered the immediate relocation of several government offices and institutions operating on Professional Grazing Reserve (PGR) land at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong.

In a directive issued by the KAAC Land and Revenue Department, the Council reiterated its firm stance against the use of grazing reserve land for non-agricultural or administrative purposes. As per the order, 11 major departments and services functioning on the Kheroni PGR land have been asked to vacate the area within 15 days. These include the Kheroni Police Station, post office, banking institutions, electricity and irrigation departments, along with other government establishments.
