Digboi, June 4 -- A startling incident surfaced at Mamorani village under Digboi food and civil supply jurisdiction involving an arbitrary imposition of puja chanda from the PDS rice beneficiaries by an FPS agent here on Tuesday.

According to allegations brought about by few benificries and Adivasi Student bodies of nearby Gopenari unit, the fair price agent Mohesh Agarwala asked the benificries to pay donation for Ganesh Puja prior to issuing the rice entitled by beneficiaries free of cost for three months.

The agent of the FPS bearing licence no MRS/73/91/05/192/R operating under Tingrai Samabai Samity was reportedly involved in similar misconduct earlier also in cheating the innocent benificries with lesser quantity of rice.
