India, Jan. 25 -- Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday ceremonially distributed financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to 18,323 women beneficiaries of Duliajan Legislative Assembly constituency under the Chief Minister's Women Entrepreneurship Mission, marking a significant step towards women's empowerment in Assam.

The cheques were handed out at a large public gathering in Duliajan, with the total amount released on the day reaching Rs 18.37 crore.

With this latest phase, the cumulative number of beneficiaries covered under the mission has risen to 22,46,551 women across 92 Assembly constituencies, officials said.
