India, Jan. 21 -- The Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 1.30 lakh Yaba tablets, valued at about ?39 crore, during a joint operation in Assam's Cachar district and apprehended three persons.

The seizure followed specific intelligence inputs on narcotics trafficking along National Highway 306. Acting on the information, a joint team intercepted two Tata trucks late on the night of November 20 while they were passing through the district.

A search of the vehicles led to the recovery of 1,30,000 Yaba tablets concealed inside the trucks. Three persons, all residents of Tripura, were taken into custody, and two mobile phones were seized from their possession.
