India, Feb. 6 -- Aaranyak, in collaboration with the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), organised an awareness programme on vulture conservation at Sibsagar Commerce College, highlighting the vital ecological and public health roles of these scavengers.
The initiative aimed to sensitise students and faculty to the importance of protecting vultures, often called nature's sanitation workers, and to stress the urgent need for their conservation.
Aaranyak's conservation official explained how vultures help prevent the spread of harmful bacteria by efficiently disposing of animal carcasses. The talk highlighted the broader ecological services provided by vultures in maintaining environmental and public health.
