India, Nov. 8 -- Three first-year students from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar are missing after reportedly falling into the Boulsol waterfall in the Harangajao village of Assam's Dima Hasao district on Saturday afternoon.
Police reported the incident around 2 p.m., and a search operation is currently underway involving local authorities and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The students were part of a group that had traveled approximately 55 km from the NIT Silchar campus for a Saturday outing.
According to local witnesses, the incident occurred when one female student allegedly slipped and fell into the water, and two others fell in while attempting a rescue.
