TINSUKIA, May 22 -- A wave of panic has engulfed the Tonganagaon tea estate under the Doomdooma revenue circle in Tinsukia district of Assam following the deaths of at least 11 individuals from cholera and diarrhoea within a week.

The rapid spread of these diseases has sparked serious concerns about the health crisis in the tea garden area, particularly in the Kulibill line, which has recorded the highest number of fatalities.

Reports indicate that many affected individuals are currently receiving treatment at the garden hospital.

In response to the crisis, the Assam Tea Tribe Students' Association (ATTSA), Tinsukia district committee, has submitted a memorandum to the district commissioner.
