India, Feb. 18 -- The situation in the Ruksin area of East Siang district has been reported as peaceful, with both the local administration and protesting residents maintaining calm amid the ongoing dispute over the silicon factory at the Industrial Growth Centre in Niglok.
Acting on a Gauhati High Court order, the East Siang district administration on Sunday attempted to move stranded trucks carrying materials to the silicon factory. However, the effort was thwarted by large-scale protests from local villagers. The material-laden trucks, which were eventually pushed back following strong public opposition, remain stranded at the Ruksin headquarters.
