India, Jan. 27 -- The NSCN/GPRN has claimed responsibility for the attack on Ranglom village in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh.

In a statement, the group said its Naga Army tactical unit targeted the 4th Assam Rifles camp at around 8 AM on Monday. The outfit added that casualties could not be confirmed due to an area lockdown imposed by security forces.

The group termed the attack a "necessary step" and accused Indian security forces of harassing civilians, asserting that it would continue operations to "defend the Naga homeland."
