India, Nov. 21 -- The opening ceremony of the much-anticipated "Sports Fest," themed "Drug Free East Siang," was held on Friday at the Battalion Headquarters, 5th IRBN, Jarkong, in Arunachal Pradesh's Pasighat.

The event was jointly organized by the East Siang Police and the 5th IRBN Battalion Headquarters to promote a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

The ceremony commenced in the morning in the presence of Sonalika Jiwani, Deputy Commissioner of Pasighat, who graced the event as the Chief Guest.

In her address, Jiwani lauded the initiative of the Police Department and IRBN for using sports as a constructive platform to engage young minds and steer them away from substance abuse.
