India, Dec. 29 -- The Tripura Chakma Students Association (TCSA) on Sunday appealed to the central government to intervene following repeated attacks on students and youth from the Northeast across the country.
During a press briefing in Agartala, the association highlighted the case of Angel Chakma, a Tripura student who was brutally attacked in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha spoke to his Uttarakhand counterpart, Pushkar Singh Dhami, regarding the fatal assault. Saha said Dhami assured him of a thorough investigation and justice for the deceased.
He is expected to visit the family of Angel Chakma near Agartala on Monday.
