India, Jan. 30 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday laid the foundation stone for Assam's second Legislative Assembly complex in Dibrugarh, marking a significant milestone in the state's infrastructure development.
The ambitious Rs 284-crore project, spread across 250 acres, will house the Assembly building, an MLA hostel, an 800-capacity auditorium, and a 480-capacity barrack.
The ceremony also witnessed the inauguration of Phase-1 of the Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex at Khanikar, constructed at a cost of Rs 238 crore.
The facility features an indoor stadium, a swimming pool complex, a football playground, and courts for lawn tennis, volleyball, and basketball, along with residential hostels.
