Guwahati, Dec. 16 -- AIIMS Guwahati has become the first health facility in the Northeast to receive accreditation as an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) provider centre.

The institute conducted its inaugural ATLS provider course from December 12 to 14, marking a major step in structured trauma education in the region.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, AIIMS Guwahati said the accreditation represents a significant milestone in standardising trauma care practices.

Eminent ATLS faculty members from across the country participated in the three-day course and contributed their expertise to the programme.
