Villa Rica, Dec. 30 -- PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction on cruelty-to-animals charges of the person(s) who abandoned an emaciated 8-month-old boxer mix in a dumpster outside the Wilson Mill Apartments in the freezing cold.

On Christmas afternoon, police officers Jason O'Neal and McKenzie O'Bannon responded to a call from a concerned resident of the apartment complex who reported hearing cries coming from the dumpster. After digging through the trash, the officers managed to retrieve the dog, who was wrapped in a blanket inside a plastic trash bag, barely alive. They rushed her to a veterinarian for urgent care-and after she recovered, O'Neal adopted her and named her Miracle.
