, Sept. 3 -- Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) has chosen Dr. Mohamed Javid Abdelmoneim as our new international president. He begins his three-year mandate following his election by representatives at MSF's highest governance body, the International General Assembly, held on June 27 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Dr. Abdelmoneim is a Sudanese-Iranian emergency medicine doctor, with extensive experience in both the United Kingdom's National Health Service and with MSF. Born in Cambridge, UK, he graduated with a degree in medicine from University College London, holds a diploma from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
