NOIDA, Nov. 20 -- On Wednesday, five officers of the Home Guard Department were arrested by the Crime Branch of Noida Police in connection with the scam of crores of rupees in the case of imposition of Home Guards duty in Gautam Budh Nagar district.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar, Vaibhav Krishna said that it was learned that the Home Guards Department officials had scammed crores of rupees by making fake attendance of absentee guards.
He told that an inquiry was conducted in this matter from his level. The report of the inquiry was sent to the government two months ago. The government also formed a four-member committee to investigate the matter.
