NEW DELHI, Nov. 8 -- CBI has registered a case against one of its own officers for allegedly recovering five crore rupees from a Gujarat businessman.

Officials said on Friday that the officer made this recovery from the businessman by threatening the action of the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department. He said that after preliminary inquiry into the allegations, the agency registered an FIR in this regard.
