PATNA, Jan. 21 -- Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that from June 1, the system of a ration card will be implemented in the entire country.
On Monday, he told that the 'One Nation One Ration Card' has been started in 16 states and will be implemented in the entire country by June 1.
He said that it has to be implemented in three phases. The first states where it has been started include Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tripura, Gujarat and Jharkhand etc.
Ram Vilas said that its process is going on in big states in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa and Chhattisgarh. Bihar will be connected to the ration card process by 31 March.
