NEW DELHI, Nov. 18 -- Thousands of students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) tried to march towards Parliament House on the first day of the winter session of Parliament demanding full refund of hostel fees, but were stopped by the police. Along with this, some students were injured in police lathicharge at various places and many were taken into custody.

The main roads of Delhi were jammed for hours since March of Parliament House. Apart from this, the gates of four metro stations were also closed.

The students, who have been protesting against the increase in hostel fees for the past three weeks, took to the streets on Monday to attract the attention of Parliament. They carried placards and banners in their hands.
