New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- With an aim to giving more powers to the police, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, January 13, gave its nod to the Commissionerate system of policing to be brought in the economic capital of the state Noida and the state capital Lucknow.

Having convened the cabinet meeting at which the decision was taken, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Lucknow and Noida will have an ADG-level officer as police commissioner who will be given the magisterial powers.
