New Delhi, Feb. 18 -- Security has been stepped up in reaction to the recent stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station. Standing idle on the foot overbridge (FOB) is prohibited by the railway administration. This action has been made to control crowd movement and improve passenger safety. Authorities have bolstered CCTV surveillance and expanded the deployment of security officers. It is recommended that passengers help to ensure seamless movement by avoiding needless stops on platforms and bridges.
In order to avoid congestion, railway authorities have also announced that entry and departure controls will be strengthened even more.
