New Delhi, April 16 -- Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh accompanied by BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi and UP Minister Brajesh Pathak, on Tuesday, filed his nomination papers from Lucknow parliamentary constituency for the Lok Sabha elections.

Ahead of filing his nomination the senior BJP leader embarked on a road show where several important leaders of the state BJP and Uttar Pradesh government were present and offered prayers at Lucknow's Hanuman Setu temple.

Contested for the first time from Lucknow parliamentary constituency in 2014 Singh registered an easy victory over Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Congress candidate who is now in BJP and a minister in UP government.
